Magical Strike

I was experimenting with some coloring techniques and decided to color one of my sketches. The foreground and background were loosely sketched in photoshop. The main guy in the middle was scanned in first. There are so many ways to color in photoshop, I'm just trying some methods to see what I can come up with. Coloring with a mousepad takes time and is somewhat difficult but is somehow fun and enjoyable

This one isn't very detailed because I was focused on the coloring. The basic scenario I came up with here is one of my characters, Corporal, was banished to another dimension by a sorceress and his army was pushed back to their capital, The Southern Province after two days of fighting. In the face of an armored strike force their position seemed hopeless but then Corporal returned with the help of a great fire spirit. Here he engages Collete, clad in her magic blue armor, with some of the remnants of the capital's defenders. Corporal came to the conclusion that the only way to defeat a magical barrier was with a magical strike.
